Hi there! I am a psycholinguist, currently an ICREA Research Professor, affiliated with the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA) and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Previously, I was a Ramón y Cajal Senior Research Fellow at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (2020-2022), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme (2017-2019).
I received my PhD with highest honors from Universitat de Barcelona in 2015 on an FPI grant from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. After finishing my PhD, I taught linguistics at the Cyprus University of Technology and held a postdoctoral research & teaching position at the University of Cyprus, partly funded by the A. G. Leventis Foundation (2016-2017).
My main research interests are language variation and bilingual/bidialectal development. Since 2009, I am a founding member of the Cyprus Acquisition Team. In 2023, I joined the Centre de Lingüística Teòrica (CLT) and the Department of Catalan Philology at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
In 2018-2020, I was selected to participate in Aurora Outstanding, a research initiative that aims to recruit and bring together the most promising young researchers in every discipline at UiT.
Since 2009, I am also a member of the Biolinguistics Team, initially in the task team, and then as an Associate Editor for Psycholinguistics from 2019 onwards. This is a Platinum Open Access journal that is not protected by a paywall for authors/readers. My pro bono work in Biolinguistics enables me to make an active contribution towards free research and equal access to scientific knowledge in academia.
Please check my CV for more information about my research interests.
