About me

Hi there! I am a psycholinguist, currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow working at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø. Since August 2017, together with Marit Westergaard we run the project DIVA funded through the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme.

I received my PhD with highest honors from Universitat de Barcelona in 2015 on an FPI grant from the Spanish state. Prior to joining UiT, I taught linguistics at the Cyprus University of Technology (Department of Rehabilitation Sciences) and held a postdoctoral research & teaching position at the University of Cyprus (Department of English Studies) in 2016-2017.

My main research specialties are language variation and development. Since 2009, I am a founding member of the Cyprus Acquisition Team (directed by Kleanthes Grohmann). In 2017, I joined the research centers Language Acquisition, Variation & Attrition, (LAVA, directed by Marit Westergaard) and Acquisition, Variation & Attrition (AcqVa, directed by Marit Westergaard and Terje Lohndal).

In 2018, I was selected to participate in Aurora Outstanding, a research initiative that aims to recruit and bring together the most promising young researchers in every discipline at UiT.

Since 2009, I am also a member of the Biolinguistics Team, initially in the task team, and then as an Associate Editor for Psycholinguistics from 2019 onwards. This is a Gold Open Access journal that is not protected by a paywall for authors/readers. My pro bono work in Biolinguistics enables me to make an active contribution towards free research and equal access to scientific knowledge in academia.
